How to Convert Military Time

Converting FROM Military Time

  • For times 0000-1159: The time is the same, just add AM. (0900 = 9:00 AM)
  • For times 1200-2359: Subtract 1200 and add PM. (1500 - 1200 = 3:00 PM)

Converting TO Military Time

  • AM times: Remove the colon and AM. (9:00 AM = 0900)
  • PM times: Add 1200 to the hour. (3:00 PM = 1500)
  • 12:00 AM (midnight): = 0000
  • 12:00 PM (noon): = 1200
